Continuing Legal Education Credit in Tennessee:
Attorneys in Tennessee are required to earn a minimum of fifteen (15) continuing legal education credit hours by December 31 per calendar year. A maximum of eight (8) hours of credit per year in a distance learning format such as web-based "online" CLE may be applied to the annual 15 credit hour requirement. Three (3) of the 15 credit hours must deal with ethics and professionalism (EP credits). A total of 15 hours of credit (including distance learning credits) in excess of the minimum annual requirement may be carried forward for credit in the succeeding calendar year, but only for the succeeding calendar year. EP credits in excess of the annual requirement will, to a maximum of three (3) hours, be carried forward to the subsequent year's EP requirement, but will not be used to satisfy any deficiency in the twelve (12) hour general requirement. Dual credit carried forward to the subsequent year may satisfy either EP or General credit. Go to www.cletn.com, the TN Commission on CLE and Specialization website, for further information about Tennessee’s CLE rules and regulations.
System Test Requirements
Please click on the System Test tab on the blue bar at the top of the home page to ensure your system meets minimum requirements to complete our seminars.
You must read the General Course Information before participating in the seminars.
Once you are sure your system is compatible with our site and you have read the General Course Information, click here to Register or view a demo course. Once you have registered, you may purchase and participate in accredited courses.
Reporting Your Continuing Legal Education Credits:
Nashville Bar Association courses are approved by the Tennessee Commission on CLE and Specialization. CLE credits for your completed online courses are reported to the Tennessee Commission on CLE and Specialization within 30 days of course completion. This reporting schedule exceeds the Tennessee Commission reporting requirements for CLE sponsors. The date that you complete an online course and finish your course exam and evaluation is the date recorded for course attendance by the TN Commission on CLE.
To qualify for CLE credit after finishing your course, you must complete the COURSE EXAM AND THE EVALUATION at the end of the course. Your answers to the exam do not affect your receipt of your CLE credit.
See the FAQ's for additional details. If you need help or have questions about your CLE credit, call EON! at 800-590-6867
Your Online Course:
You do not have to complete a course in one sitting. You have the option of entering and exiting a course at any time prior to completing and submitting your course for credit. To re-enter a course simply go back to www.Nashvillebar.org, , pull down the CLE seminars tab, and click on 'online CLE seminars.' Login at the Member Login box using your email address and password (that you previously created). Click on the “View Courses” tab on the blue bar at the top of the home page. Click on “View My Purchased Courses” or enter the course name in the Search field at the bottom of the page. Click on the “Listen/View” icon, choose your connection setting, and the course will begin at the correct segment.
A course end date is displayed at the end of the course row for every course. This is the last day the course will be offered. After that date the course will no longer be available. Please be sure to complete all course segments, read and print all course materials and print your certificate as you will not be able to access the course after the course end date.
